Construction Resumes at Newbury Manter Field

Three years later…

The controversial project, Newbury Manter Field was halted by the state inspector general’s office in 2009 is underway again.

With a foundation showing signs of failure, the Recreation Department recommended framing the building to protect it from the weather and stop further deterioration of the foundation, approvals sought to complete the work.

Originally started in September 2008, the building, under the direction of the Recreation Committee was to be a storage facility and shelter during inclement weather.  With no town budget for the building, concerns were raised.
